Inspired by small festivals and the Dutch do it yourself party scene my designs enable the use of relatively cheap and easy accessible items such as umbrella’s and beer crates for social purposes. When it comes to materials I have no special preferences. For the moment I use metals, fibreglass and synthetic textiles. My designs aim at clear, simple and light weight constructions that can be industrially produced in large numbers.
Umbrella tent
Tent, nylon deck with holes, pole for keeping up two or three umbrellas.
Paraplu tent inspired by quickly dismantling objects.
Also looked at a universal attachable piece, and chose an object that everyone has at home a umbrella.
In this construction the frame of the umbrella supports the rest of the tent, so no extra support is needed.
I like to work with prints and a distinct color palette, because a party equals color in my view.
I want my products to show that the mood during a festival can also be achieved by several products.
It has to have a spontaneous character and be established by improvisation
